FAQ

How do I join?

To get involved in DSA, sign up and become a dues-paying member. Here’s how that works:

  • Go to the website, https://dsausa.org/join, and fill out the form. Your information will be sent to us by National when we get the next member list update.
  • Dues can be monthly, annual, or you can become a member for life. The amount of dues you pay can be scaled depending on your income level, and there are waivers for financial hardship.

If you sign up for monthly dues, the chapter gets a share of your money to support our work!

Do I have to be a member to participate?

Non-members can attend many chapter meetings and events. Only members in good standing can debate and vote at chapter meetings, and run and cast votes in chapter elections.

Is DSA a political party?

The DSA is a democratic, membership-driven, volunteer, non-profit activist organization. While we may endorse candidates, fight for legislation, and have elected officials among our ranks, we are not a political party. Joining will not affect your voting registration status.
